Born on April 11th, 1935 Shirley
is a Beaumont native. She has
completed intensive study on her
own as well as studying with
artists such nationally known
artists as Dick Turner of
Houston, Texas. She has been
published in several
magazines including 'Artists of
Texas' and 'North Light
Magazine'.
Preferring oil painting, her subject matters are still life, figure, and landscape on
site. She has also delved in various other mediums including, watercolor, pastels,
acrylic, pen and ink, and much more.
As a full time painter and instructor,
she encourages her students not to
be satisfied with superficial
knowledge, but to develop their own
individual style based on sound
drawing and painting skills.
